Contra Dances at the Atherton YMCA on University Ave.

The university-area contra dances are held at the Atherton YMCA, 1820 University Avenue. It is on the left side of the street as you drive uphill (mauka) on University, the third building after the Metcalf St. intersection (traffic light). If you are driving from Waikiki, you may want to come up McCully Street, which leads into Metcalf. Parking is available on the neighboring streets, or on the University of Hawai'i campus ($3 for UH parking). If there is a big athletic event at the University, you may have to park some distance away.

From Waikiki, you can take the #4 bus heading toward the University. Tell the bus driver you want to get off at University Ave. and Metcalf St. The #6 and #18 bus lines also can get you there.
