A1 Actives cross the set, get between inactives, facing out, join hands with inactives (4)
Balance in line (4)
Turn by the right once around; form same lines (8)

According to Page (1984), this dance was
sometimes also formerly called "Road to Californy." The closely related
dance named Road of Californy
is given in Jennings (1983).
In contra dances today, the "Road to Californy" version is often used instead of the
older "Lamplighter's Hornipipe."
